A glimpse of one of the university’s monuments, “The Arch”, is seen from the steps of the north campus chapel on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Many students living in downtown Athens use this route to commute to campus, feeding into superstition by also making sure to avoid walking directly underneath the monument. (Photo/Kimberly Thomas)

“Meals They Eat” Event

On September 21, 2025, Tom and Rachael Sullivan brought their “Meals They Eat” college tour to Countryside Manor, an event venue in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, offering University of Georgia students free, homemade meals and a welcoming space to connect.

The tour, which also stops at universities such as UVA, USC and UNC, is rooted in the couple’s personal journey, beginning when Tom cooked hormone-healing meals for Rachael during her battle with PCOS. The meals feature PCOS-friendly, gluten-free and dairy-free recipes, including multiple vegan options.

The Oglethorpe County menu included pot roast, braised cabbage, green beans, and honey-infused cornbread. Student volunteers arrived hours early to help setup and participate in content creation, many of whom have followed the couple for years on social media and relate to their story.

Throughout the tour, students sign a traveling trailer with their names and graduation years, and Tom says hearing these personal stories is what motivates the couple to continue connecting people through food. WhatsApp sponsored the event.
